The Alien franchise was produced by Brandywine Productions. The Brandywine river is found in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth universe. Sir Ian Holm starred as Bilbo Baggins in the theatrical versions of The Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit, respectively. He also performed the role of Frodo Baggins in the earlier BBC Radio production of The Lord of the Rings. John Hurt voiced Aragorn in Ralph Bakshi's animated Il signore degli anelli (1978). Alien - La clonazione (1997) cast member Brad Dourif also appeared in Il Signore degli Anelli - Le due torri (2002).
