One of the scenes have the group of detectives visit the Pope in the Vatican. Another major release of 2009 was Angeli e demoni (2009), which also takes place in the Vatican. Jean Reno and Alfred Molina, who appear together in this movie, previously worked together in Il codice da Vinci (2006), to which Angels & Demons was the sequel.
