Brad Dourif's first Best Picture winner, Qualcuno volò sul nido del cuculo (1975), also featured Scatman Crothers, Jack Nicholson, and an uncredited cameo by Nicholson's then-girlfriend, Anjelica Huston, whose father, John Huston, voiced Gandalf in Il ritorno del re (1980). Crothers and Nicholson appeared together again in Shining (1980), which also featured Philip Stone, who voiced Theoden in Il signore degli anelli (1978).
