Although it seems to be a vision or hallucination, this experience is based on fact, and is known as Third Man Factor, which occurs in situations of extreme risk or mortal danger where voices, or even presences help to keep a person alive. One of the most common places where Third Man Factor happens, is the top of a mountain.
