Your loving husband, Lt. Col. Alvin F. Houlahan, Regular Army"; in season two, episode seventeen, "MASH: For Want of a Boot (1974)", Margaret gave Frank, for his birthday, the Calvary riding crop her mother gave to her father; in season three, episode nine, "MASH: Alcoholics Unanimous (1974)", Margaret showed Frank the silver flask her father gave to her mother, engraved: "To my Buttercup, from Alvin. The best things are worth waiting for. Bottoms up!"
