Richard Karn, who previously co-starred with Tim Allen on Home Improvement as Al Borland, plays Bill McKendree who tells Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) to "say 'hi' to your wife and three sons", which Mike replies "Bill, I have three daughters." Bill responds "Really? God, I seem to remember it was three boys." This is a nod to Tim Allen's character, Tim "The Toolman" Taylor on Home Improvement.
