In the film, Dick Goodwin mentions the Reuben sandwich as the only "truly invented" sandwich, and credits Reuben K with inventing it. The inventor is actually unknown, and the recipe goes back to about 1908, at least 20 years before Reuben Kulakofsky introduced it.
