When the series started, many broadcasters would show the series in a prime late evening slot. For example in the UK and Ireland, BBC One (UK terrestrial) and RTE 2 (Ireland terrestrial), and Sky One (UK and Ireland satellite) could often be only a few episodes apart within the same season. By 2019, only RTE 2 was showing season 11, and even then it had been shunted onto the mid-week 2am slot, as many fans had drifted away over 26 years.
