Chris Isaak was up for the role of Jeffrey Beaumont, but he turned it down and the role went to Kyle MacLachlan. David Lynch used two songs by Isaak from his 1985 debut album "Silvertone". Isaak later agreed to appear in Fuoco cammina con me (1992) in a role, which curiously was originally intended to be another Kyle MacLachlan character, Agent Dale Cooper, until the role was re-written into two separate parts.
