The sub machine gun Brad Pitt uses to shoot the SS Soldier who ambushed the column with the Panzerfaust is a German "MP 43" - later renamed for propaganda purposes "Sturmgewehr (assault rifle) 44". It is regarded the blueprint model of almost every assault gun ever constructed since WWII.
