The novel and movie was the inspiration of the hit worldwide series, Big Brother (2000), by taking a select group of people and putting them into a house shut off from the outside world, where they are video taped and recorded. Some countries even have live feeds, where you can watch a live Internet feed of all of the action in the house, run by "Big Brothers" (the producers).
