The supposed mistake in Stab, the movie-within-a-movie, where Ghostface stabs Casey in the shoulder and we don't actually see any breaking of the skin or blood flow was completely intentional, as a nod to a genuine mistake in the first film where in the initial shot of Casey getting stabbed in the shoulder by Ghostface, there is no actual blood loss or visible injury until the next shot. It was a mistake fans kept repeatedly pointing out to Wes Craven.
