Sheriff Metzger's wife, Adele, was often talked about but never seen, much like Lars Lindstrom on Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970) and Juanita Beasley on The Andy Griffith Show (1960). Adele Metzger was a former Marine capable of prodigious acts of strength, who taught self-defense classes.
