Campbell Scott and Laura Dern have both appeared opposite their real-life mothers on film. Scott and his mother, Colleen Dewhurst, played mother and son in Dying Young. Dern and her mother, Diane Ladd, played mother and daughter in Wild at Heart, and appeared together again the next year in Rambling Rose.
