When Matlock defends a client in a different court than his home turf in the season 4 opener, the judge is as no-nonsense as they come and absolutely hates the way Matlock turns the courtroom into his own personal little circus. That judge ends up moving to Atlanta much later in the show and becomes the one judge who simply refuses to let Matlock carry on the way he usually does.
