Clark Gable and Hattie McDaniel co-starred together in the 1935 film China Seas, before co-starring in Gone With the Wind together in 1939. Later McDaniel would co-star with another Gone With the Wind alum Butterfly Mcqueen in the 1950 CBS sitcom Buelah. (This was the first sitcom to star a black female; and the only one until 16 years later with Diahan Carrol's Julia).
