This movie was intended to be the final project from Batman (1992) as it retains the designs and animation style of the original animated series coupled with some of the earlier uses of Conspicuous CG. Despite this, the movie was held back a year and released in 1998 after the debut of Batman - Cavaliere della notte (1997) which not only featured style changes to the character designs but, it also comes after the return on Mr. Freeze in Batman - Cavaliere della notte: Cold Comfort (1997) which is set after this movie takes place.
