While in the animated classic the events of the film take place in at least some days, due to the unspecified permanence on Pleasure Island, the dust and spiderwebs in Geppetto's empty house and the same Geppetto saying in Monstro's belly that "days" have passed since he, Figaro and Cleo got swallowed by the giant whale, the live-action version's events take place in just one day, as confirmed by the same Geppetto.
