In 2001, Mirage Studios pitched an idea to Warner Bros. for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series that would have either aired on Kids WB! or Cartoon Network. Beyond the concept art stage, Warner Bros. passed on the show. However, Fox took it up a few years and it evolved into this series.
