The first part of this series, set in the 1930's, is a spin-off idea from the earlier miniseries "Petits Meurtres En Famille", which was also based on an Agatha Christie work ("Hercule Poirot's Christmas"). The miniseries introduced the characters of Commissaire Larosière and Inspecteur Lampion, played by Antoine Duléry and Marius Colucci; however the time frame and events of its story make it problematic for this series to be viewed as either a continuation of it or a "pre-quel" to it. The two shows essentially exist in different TV universes, although they do feature the same principal characters played by the same actors.
