At one point, Malcolm Merlyn shares his opinion about naming the new vigilante "Green Arrow" just before Oliver Queen replies by saying, "Lame". Later in the series, Oliver does indeed adopt the monicker "Green Arrow", but the connection to Malcom is never mentioned. It's unclear if this was intentional, or an oversight by the writing staff.
