When the producers first instituted the Double Showcase rule, the showcases were in the range of $2000 to $4000, and a $100 difference seemed good, later when the showcases hit between $10000 and $30000, it became too harder for contestants to win a double showcase, hence, it was Roger Dobkowitz's and Phil Wayne's call to increased this range of $250, so they would get at least three or four, a year.
