During an appearance at the Ultimates Convention in 2022, Jesse Rath revealed executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner pitched a seventh season of Supergirl. If a seventh season was greenlit, it would have caused the sixth season to have 13 episodes rather than the 20 episodes that aired and a seventh season to have 10 episodes. This would have fulfilled the seven-season contract agreed upon by Benoist, the executive producers and Warner Bros when Benoist won the role.
