It was originally set to open on May 22nd, 2020, but on March 12th, 2020 it got pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new release date was April 2nd, 2021, taking over Fast X (2023). In early October 2020 it was pushed back yet again to May 28th, 2021, in order to avoid competition with No Time to Die (2021) (which was also pushed back from November 2020 due to the pandemic).
