In season 2, Jonathan Byers is told to take down his poster of the film The Evil Dead, considering Will is being referred to as the Zombie Boy. However, for promotion of the episode where Winona Ryder's character, Joyce Byers, is dragged underground, they made a poster featuring Ryder in a direct homage to the popular theatrical poster of The Evil Dead.
