Jodi Letizia, who played Marie in Rocky (1976), was supposed to reprise her role in this film, as a prostitute who had recently become homeless. The scene wound up on the cutting room floor, although Letizia appears briefly during the street fight at the end of the film. The character returned in Rocky Balboa (2006).
