Jealous over the bigger success of Xena: Principessa guerriera (1995), Kevin Sorbo has bitterly complained many times that Xena took away half of the writers and directors from his show. However, when you cross-reference both shows you find that this isn't true. There was not a mass exodus. There were 2-4 writers and directors that wrote and directed for both shows. Many times going back and forth. Xena's years of 2000-2001 does not count because Hercules was already canceled by this time. Some of the directors directed other TV shows other than Xena and Hercules within the same period both shows aired. However Sorbo, in his complaints never complained about these other shows taking his directors away. Young Hercules (1998) starring Ryan Gosling which aired from 1998-1999 also had roughly the same number of directors and writers aforementioned from both Xena and Hercules that cycled the three shows at the time, yet, Sorbo again, never complained about this show taking away his writers and directors.
