When Dr. Eggman takes the power of the Master Emerald, among the abilities is teleportation. He is very likely using Chaos Control as it is depicted in Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) (while latter games would more play up the time control aspect). Like in "Sonic Adventure 2", they capture Sonic, except here instead of doing it because they mistook him for a different hedgehog, they do it because of Sonic's own shenanigans.
