Fans of the movie have had trouble interpreting the scene in which Turaga Dume speaks to Makuta, who appears as a pair of eyes in a mirror. It is later revealed that Dume actually is Makuta in disguise, so the scene makes very little sense, since he is basically talking to himself. According to the movie novelization, the true self of "Dume" would have been revealed in a later scene when he looks into the mirror again, and he is reflected wearing Makuta's mask. This scene appears completely differently in the finished movie, where Makuta is seen looking into the mirror with his own mask by default, and only later puts on Dume's mask, thereby nullifying the effect of the reveal. Thus, the first mirror scene ended up making little sense.
