As of 2021, the cast members have all died in the same order as the human characters in the movie. On January 25, 2017, Sir John Hurt became the first main cast member from this movie to die, just as his character Kane did in the movie. On September 15, 2017, Harry Dean Stanton became the second cast member to die, just like his character Brett is the second character in the movie to die. The third cast member, Sir Ian Holm passed away on June 19, 2020; although his character Ash would seem to be the fourth character to die (Tom Skerritt's Dallas being the third), many fans have pointed out that since no blood was found, Dallas was never confirmed dead, and he is implied to be the sixth fatality when the Nostromo explodes. However, in the 2003 Director's Cut were added some deleted scenes from the original filming: one of them includes Ripley discovering the alien's refuge, where she finds Brett's corpse and a still alive but trapped Dallas, who asks Ripley time and time again to kill him (before to turn him in food for the alien). Ripley finally agrees and burns the place with the flamethrower. This scene happens after the deaths of Lambert and Parker and previous to Ripley's escape in the shuttle Narcisus, making Dallas the sixth and last fatality of the ship. On 15th March 2021, Yaphet Kotto became the fourth actor to die and if going by the events of the 2003 Director's cut, Parker was also the fourth character to die.
