This show not only spoofed elements of the Batman movies and comics, and the Shadow, but the intelligence organization, S.H.U.S.H., also parodied Marvel Comics' S.H.I.E.L.D., a super spy organization that often requests the aid of superheroes, especially Captain America, on missions. Darkwing Duck's outfit was also influenced by the Scarlet Pimpernel.
