This movie marks the debut of a fifth version of the gun-barrel opening sequence that needed to be redone to match the movie's 2.35:1 aspect ratio. It featured a closer shot of Sir Roger Moore against a more colored background. Also, it's the first time that Bond wears a dinner jacket during the sequence. In addition, this sequence has the distinction of being the one with the most appearances, as its footage was re-used for Moonraker - Operazione spazio (1979), Solo per i tuoi occhi (1981), Octopussy - Operazione piovra (1983), and 007 - Bersaglio mobile (1985), with a total of five appearances. It would never feature in a Moore-era trailer however - the original 1.85:1 version would be used in all of the trailers due to that being the standard ratio for trailers during the period, meaning the new 2.35:1 version would not have to be re-formatted, thus never featuring in a trailer.
