Viewers who know Italian will notice that both Luca and Alberto's last names are Italian words for sea creatures: respectively, "Paguro" means hermit crab, and "Scorfano" means redfish. This subtly reveals early on that Concetta and Pinuccia Aragosta the two senior ladies in Portorosso are also sea monsters; their last name is the Italian word for lobster.
