John Landis saw Perseguitato dalla fortuna (1991) and cast Anthony LaPaglia, Vic Noto, Tony Lip, and Tony Sirico from that film to appear in this movie. He also saw L'ultimo boy scout - Missione: sopravvivere (1991), and cast Kim Coates. Naturally, all had to audition for Landis anyway.
