The plot of this film is essentially the same as the plot of Rotta verso la Terra (1986). Hyper-advanced probe arrives, threatening Earth with destruction. Shenanigans ensue until it's learned probe is waiting for a signal from Earth's distant past (in this case, a signal from NASA). This signal is sent and the probe politely withdraws.
