In this film, Hugh Glass is shown to have had a wife and son, even though there are no historical records of the real Glass having any children or being married. Similarly, in Uomo bianco va' col tuo Dio (1971), Zachary Bass, who is also based on Glass, was also shown to have had a wife and son.
