There were several stories of Naseeruddin angry with Shashi Kapoor after the making of Junoon. When Shashi's daughter Sanjana acted in the play "Arms and The Man", many were shocked at how badly Naseeruddin and his wife Ratna treated Sanjana. Ratna was directed the play for Theatrewallahs. Naseeruddin and Ratna would openly snub her and would make cruel comments. Naseeruddin would do this due to his hatred for Shashi Kapoor. Rather than put up further with this treatment,Sanjana walked out of the play. When Hero Hiralal was announced ,Ketan Mehta was able to patch things up between Naseeruddin and Sanjana. Naseer realized he was at wrong with his behavior and apologized to Sanjana.
