When Julio finally confronts, the elusive Mrs. Cruz, he frantically asks the whereabouts of Ligaya asking: "Mrs. Cruz! Where's Ligaya? Ligaya Paraiso! The girl from Marinduque!". It is only then that it is revealed where Julio and Ligaya came from. The province of Marinduque is an island in the Philippines which belongs to the MIMAROPA (also consists of Mindoro, Romblon, and Palawan) or the Southwestern Tagalog region. It is known to be one of the most peaceful places in the country because of its low crime rate.
