Much like Kiryu from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Godzilla Tokyo SOS, Mechagodzilla is an anti-kaiju mech that integrates organic kaiju matter (a piece of Ghidorah's DNA in his case), which eventually seizes control of it and causes it to rampage. The novelization states that one of Ghidorah's skulls was integrated into Mechagodzilla, with another being integrated into the control unit. When infused with Hollow Earth energy, Ghidorah's remains are reanimated and its remaining consciousness merges with Mechagodzilla's AI.
