First time a director has directed a second consecutive James Bond movie since John Glen (007 - Zona pericolo (1987) and 007 - Vendetta privata (1989)), and its the fifth time a James Bond movie has someone directing consecutive back-to-back movies for the franchise. Sam Mendes (Skyfall (2012) and this movie) joins Terence Young, who directed Agente 007 - Licenza di uccidere (1962), A 007, dalla Russia con amore (1963), and Agente 007 - Thunderball: operazione tuono (1965); Guy Hamilton, who directed four Bond movies including Agente 007 - Missione Goldfinger (1964), with three consecutive between 1971 and 1974: Agente 007 - Una cascata di diamanti (1971), Agente 007 - Vivi e lascia morire (1973), and Agente 007 - L'uomo dalla pistola d'oro (1974); Lewis Gilbert directed La spia che mi amava (1977) and Moonraker - Operazione spazio (1979) back-to-back (as well as Agente 007 - Si vive solo due volte (1967) earlier); and John Glen, who directed five consecutive Bond movies between 1981 and 1989: Solo per i tuoi occhi (1981), Octopussy - Operazione piovra (1983), 007 - Bersaglio mobile (1985), 007 - Zona pericolo (1987), and 007 - Vendetta privata (1989).
