Dennis Hopper on 'Mad Dog Morgan' (1976) was later Oscar nominated in 1987 in this category for 'Hoosiers' (1986); James Coburn on 'Death of a Soldier' (1986) later in 1999 won in this category for 'Affliction' (1997); Christopher Walken in 'Communion' (1989) had earlier won in 1979 for 'The Deer Hunter' (1978) and was later nommed again in the same category in 2003 for 'Catch Me If You Can (2002); and Alan Arkin on 'The Return of Captain Invincible' (1983) in 2007 won in this category for 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006) and later was also nominated in the same category in 2013 for 'Argo' (2012).
