The Zodiac boats serving the submersibles have the letters "UDT" stenciled on them. The "UDT", or "Underwater Demolition Team", was created during World War II as obstacle clearing teams who went in to occupied beaches before the landing craft during the Pacific campaign. They are the forerunners of today's S.E.A.L.s.
