The New World Pictures studio appealed the movie's R-Rating from the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) after it had performed well at the box-office in the USA in mid-late 1977. They had hoped a lower PG-Rating may further increase the film's revenue at the box-office stateside. However, the MPAA Rating stayed an ''R'' despite continued good numbers and was not on their appeal down-graded to a ''PG''.
