John Hillerman was born in 1932, making him seven years old when World War II began, and thirteen when it ended. Higgins is thought to have been born around 1920. Hillerman was only six years older than Roger E. Mosley, who was born in 1938. Mosley's character T.C. was said to have graduated college in 1968, and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mosely is seven years older than Tom Selleck and nine years older than Larry Manetti. Despite the age gaps of Selleck, Mosley, and Manetti, all three of their characters were the same age. In season seven, episode four, "Straight and Narrow", T.C said he is the same age as Magnum, who was most likely born in 1946. In season seven, episode twelve, "Death of the Flowers", it was made explicit that Rick was twelve years old in 1958, making him the same age as the other two. This would make Magnum, T.C. and Rick "Baby Boomers".
