Canceled by NBC after two seasons, the series continued production for several more years, becoming one of the first shows to successfully move off-network and continue in the syndication market, along with Nancy, Sonny & Co. (1980) and Dalle 9 alle 5, orario continuato (1982). A few years later, Baywatch (1989) would duplicate this feat with even greater success.
