Kathy Bates portrayed a mother in every season she is featured. In season three (Coven), she had three daughters; in season four (Freak Show), she was Jimmy Darling's (Evan Peters's) mother; in season five (Hotel), she was Donovan's (Matt Bomer's mother; and in season six, she played "The Butcher", who was mother to Wes Bentley's character in the "My Roanoke Nightmare" segment. Additionally, she is a mother-figure to Michael Langdon in season eight (Apocalypse).
