In 2015, visual effects creators Adrien Dezalay, Emmanuel Delabaere, and Simon Philippe directed a digitally edited "mashup" film called The Red Drum Getaway. The story begins with an Everyman played by James Stewart (using footage from his films with Alfred Hitchcock) being pursued by Jack Torrance. The increasingly agitated Stewart character then falls into a world inhabited entirely by characters from all of Stanley Kubrick's films from 2001: Odissea nello spazio (1968) onward.
