Bumblebee continues to use his radio to communicate, even though at the end of Transformers (2007) he was able to speak briefly. The writers liked Bumblebee's radio ability and wanted to use it again, so the movie comic ''Transformers: Alliance' (#3) explains that Bumblebee's voice processor was damaged again in a battle with Starscream.
