This iteration of Clark Kent downplays his super-intelligence; this Clark comes across as an person of average intelligence, and can't do things like speed read or memorize encyclopedias like the comic book and movie character can. They've also nixed things like his "never telling a lie" rule; and the character's mousiness and awkwardness; he's no longer a nerd, but an average young man. And most importantly, they took away his glasses.
