There was confusion between the genders of Kurama and Genkai in the Philippine dub. Kurama was thought of to be a girl while Genkai was thought of to be a guy. That's why when Kurama was introduced, he was voiced as a girl and was called Denise but was later changed to Dennis, while Genkai was called Master Jeremiah, a guy's name.
